A few of the many things to do

Kenilworth

Our hometown has a rich and colourful history, with power struggles, sieges, and a bit of royal flirtation! Our historic High Street in the Old Town borders Abbey Fields which contains the ruined Abbey of St Mary The Virgin, parts of which can be accessed. Of course the jewel in our crown is the still-imposing Kenilworth Castle, the largest - and described as - "one of the most spectacular ruins" in England.

Warwick

Our picturesque county town with plenty of history and many surviving historical and timber-framed buildings. From the Lord Leycester Hospital and St John's House to the surviving parts of the town walls and impressive gatehouses, there is loads to see and do. A visit wouldn't be complete without taking in Warwick Castle, described as "the finest medieval castle in England".

Stratford-upon-Avon

Home of undoubtedly Warwickshire's most famous son, Stratford is a beautiful town on the banks of the River Avon with many attractions. From riverside parks to quaint streets steeped in history, and did someone say William Shakespeare...? His birthplace in the centre of town is open to the public, as are Mary Arden and Anne Hathaway's cottages in the surrounding countryside.

Royal Leamington Spa

A fine example of Victorian grandeur thanks to the interest in the believed healing properties of spa waters. The town was granted "Royal" status in 1838 by Queen Victoria. The Pump Rooms remain, close to Jephson Gardens and the splendid architecture of The Parade and Regent Street shopping areas. With many bars and restaurants, Leamington is our local nightlife hotspot.

Coventry

A city with a fascinating history and eras of importance, and a symbol of peace and reconciliation following the events of the Blitz. The ruined cathedral stands proud alongside the stunning Sir Basil Spence's new cathedral, and many historical buildings and sites to see around the city. The UK City of Culture in 2021, it is a vibrant place that is constantly evolving.

Rugby

Everyone's heard of Rugby, and this is where is all began. As the legend goes, at Rugby School in 1823, during a game of football William Webb Ellis decided to pick up a ball and run with it. The rules were ensconced and remain the game we know today. One of the larger towns in our region it has an historic centre to visit and explore, and plenty of shops and eateries to entertain.
